Private Equity Fund Amicus Capital Raises $90M in First Fund Close

Bangalore-based private equity fund, Amicus Capital Partners has raised about $90 million as first close of its $200 million fund. Launched in March 2015, Amicus was founded by former Carlyle India managing director Mahesh Parasuraman and Sunil Theckath Vasudevan, former partner of India Value Fund Advisors.

The fund would pick up a significant minority stake in its target companies and is planning to invest about Rs 50-150 crore per deal, the company said.

Amicus is looking to invest in healthcare, technology and business services, financial services, and consumer and leisure companies that have at least Rs 40 crore revenue.
