BenQ becomes the No. 1 Projector brand in India with 20% market share

BenQ has become the No.1 projector brand in India with a total market share of 20% in the projector category.  According to the FutureSource Consulting, the company clinched the top spot with over 20% of market share and 26.5% Quarter on Quarter growth rate in the second quarter of 2011. BenQ is world’s number one DLP projector brand and education projector brand however in India this is the first time that the brand has achieved the No. 1 position.

BenQ in addition to holding the overall top rank is also the market leader in SVGA and Short Throw projector category with market share of 34% and 39% respectively according to FutureSource Consulting.

Keeping in mind the rise in demand for projectors from the education sector in India, BenQ plans to unveil new models to meet the demands of this sector. It has also completed its short-throw projector offering from 0.3 to 0.9 throw ratio. In the recent past, BenQ has received many accolades for its performance globally. Based on FutureSource Consulting’s Q2 2011 report, BenQ has maintained the second* spot in the Asia Pacific* regions with 12.6% of market shares. BenQ reached top two with a steady performance in the education segment with 21% market share and took down the No. 1 position in the 3D segment. These achievements put BenQ forward as one of the most respected brands in the projector industry.

BenQ’s success in Q2 was shared around the world with over 11% of market share achieved in the global market. BenQ is also the top-three projector brand in 38 countries across the globe , holding top position in more than 16 countries including China, India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia,  Russia, Sweden, Austria, and Brazil etc. Similar to the Asia Pacific market, BenQ took the lead in both the DLP and 3D segment in the world wide market.
