The Media Ant, an online marketplace for advertisers to find online and offline media owners, has launched a new feature on the website which allows users to select media advertising platforms for their products, providing the ad space purchasing rates for various media ranging from magazines to public relations to in-flight advertising.
This feature on The Media Ant website, specifically aimed to help out startups and SMEs, helps the user find advertising spaces at rates and territories of their choice. This feature aims to bridge the big gap that exists between offline and online mediums of advertising. Although there are many online ad service providers, The Media Ant’s move to act as an offline media aggregator is a brave one.
Since the addition of this particular feature on the website, the Bangalore based startup has received almost twice to three times the traffic than what it used to generate previously. Launched at UnPluggsd conference in 2012, The Media Ant deals with Media owners in finding and aggregating the available media spaces and makes it visible for the users through their website.
Samir, Co-founder of The Media Ant says that the firm’s intention is to be what TripAdvisor is to the travel and tourism segment. “We want to make sure that every user who visits our website finds what he is looking for in one place. We added intelligence to the basic search results and now we have a unique feature,” says Samir.
Samir also points out that most searches were made pertaining to major metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, but there has also been a huge response from smaller cities like Pune and Jaipur. While most queries were made on the purchase costs for Cinemas and Radio slots, people have also been interested in features like in-flight advertising, a relatively new space for a lot of Startups and SMEs.
