Online personal care and beauty products website Purplle has raised an undisclosed amount in Series A funding, the company said. Blume Ventures, Mumbai Angles and Chennai Angles have invested in the company.
The portal plans to increase the merchandising strength from the current 10,000 odd stock keeping units to 15,000 and the number of withstanding brands from 400 to 500 plus, said Purplle. It will also invest in supply chain capabilities, technology, warehousing and customer experience.
The company founded in 2011 is based in Mumbai and is planning a new office in Bangalore soon. The startup also offers a Salon and spa listing platform in Mumbai, Delhi and Gurgaon. They are also planning to launch this in 8 cities by mid 2014.
Housing.co.in launches in New Cities
Venture backed real estate classifieds portal Housing.co.in has expanded to 8 more cities including Chennai, Ghaziabad and Noida, the company said.
The company, one of the new generation real estate classifieds startups, had raised $2.5 mn from Nexus Venture Partners (Read: Housing.co.in secures $2.5 mn funding).
Housing.co.in was founded by IIT Bombay students and was seed funded by a group of angel investors led by Zishaan Hayath, the co-founder of Chaupati Bazaar.
Biztradeshows Acquires PlayCez
Online buying club for small businesses IndiaMart’s Biztradeshows has acquired PlayCez, a local event discovery app, according to a new report. The Delhi based company had raised funds from GSF accelerator’s Rajesh Sawhney and Mukul Singhal of Saif partners.
PlaycezPlaycez monitors social media and checkin services with proprietary algorithms to help its users discover events in the visinity. The company was being mentored by Ixigo’s cofounder Aloke Bajpai. The deal was reported by Medianama.
