Qulacomm has unveiled two new processors under Snapdragon— the Snapdragon 430 and Snapdragon 617, targeted at mid-range phones.
The Snapdragon 430 has an octa-core chip with Cortex-A53 CPUs clocked at 1.2GHz, paired with Adreno 505 GPU. The processor’s modem enables X6 LTE and Cat 4 download speeds up to 150Mbps. Additionally, it also supports 2×10 carrier aggregation with Cat 5 uplink speeds up to 75 Mbps.
The Snapdragon 617 boasts of an octa-core Cortex-A5 CPUs clocked up to 1.5GHz, paired with an Adreno 405 GPU. The modem in Snapdragon enables X8 LTE that enables Cat 7 download and upload speeds up to 300Mbps and 100Mbps, respectively.
Both the new additions support 1080p displays and dual camera specifications with resolution up to 21-megapixel.
