Die hard quizzers, here’s one for you.
Hoping to make quizzing easier, and massively multi user for students between classes 1 to 12, Bangalore based Brainistic has launched a quiz platform for educationists and parents to assess their pupil’s understanding across subjects such as English, Computer and Math.
Users can solve and create quizzes by selecting a grade and subject or pick one from list of top 10 most popular quizzes. Brainistic offers two types of quizzes – Standard and Smart. In Standard quiz format, the platform offers fixed number of questions with predefined order. This type of quiz don’t have per question time limit but will have an overall time limit. Users can go back and forth in this type of quiz.
Other type of quiz is Smart quiz in which difficulty of question changes depending upon correctness of users’ response. In this format questions are picked from a big pool of questions and has a time limit defined for every question.
Brainistic gives users a global ranking for their proficiency level in each subject. At the end of every quiz users can review their answers and learn from mistakes. In addition, Brainistic’s media library allows quiz takers to find, store and save files and flash cards.
Launched by Dhananjay Singh and Nitin Raghukumar – Brainistic also has an iOS app (link) priced at $1.99, through which users’ can play all the quizzes from Brainistic repository on their iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices.
“As of now we have around 200 paid app downloads with 50 users are taking the different quizzes,” said Nitin Raghukumar, co-founder Brainistic. The platform claims to have more than 30,000 visitors visited the website.
The startup aims to generate revenue from those who are interested to buy its packages like schools, individuals and instructors/tutors who wish to create content and sell. Tutors who wish to create their content and sell as package – “The revenue model would be to share 70 % to authors and 30 % for us,” said Nitin.
At present, the startup is being bootstrapped by founders, however it is talking to few investors for raising series A to scale the operations. “We would soon be launching a platform CENTRIFUGE – which would be the quizzing platform with a lot more updates and new features than Brainistic.”
