Railways Starts Surge Pricing in Rajdhani, Shatabdi; 10% Rise For Every 10% of Tickets Sold

Starting Friday, passengers travelling by Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Duronto trains will have to shell out more money for their tickets, with prices rising 10% for every 10% of tickets sold.

Fares can go up to a maximum of 1.5 times the original base fare on Second-AC and the Chair Car and for Third-AC, the hike cannot cross 40% of the ticket price. The new fare structure is not applicable on 1AC and executive class coaches.

Passengers who have already booked tickets at pre-revision rates will not have to pay more.
