Raymond to Replace 10,000 Human Workers With Robots in Next 3 Years

The 9-decade-year-old apparel giant is planning to cut close to 10,000 jobs in its 16 manufacturing centres, in what could become a trend across industries in the coming years.

Reasoning that the company is trying to scale down the number of jobs through technology, Raymond’s CEO Sanjay Behl said in an interview that, ‘one robot could replace around 100 workers. While it is happening in China at present, it will also happen in India.”
