Real-time monitoring of VoIP in Kashmir ordered

The Union Home Ministry has asked telecom operators in the Kashmir valley to ensure that all communications on the Internet and social networking sites are monitored on real-time basis.

Ministry sources have said that all the service operators in the valley have been asked to ensure that communications taking place over their networks either through Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or on social networking sites should be available for monitoring by the security agencies [source].

Loop Mobile Launches Mobile Money Service

Loop Mobile, in partnership with ZipCash has introduced Mobile Money service for its subscribers in Mumbai, India.

Reliance ADAG to sell up to 49% in DTH

The Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group is planning to sell up to 49% stake in its DTH venture Reliance Big TV in a deal which could raise R2,000-2,500 crore. The Group is open to selling the stake to one or more investors, domestic or foreign, soon after the imminent hike in foreign direct investment (FDI) cap in DTH to 74%. The transaction, if it goes through, will be the biggest deal yet in India’s six-player DTH market.[source]

Business confidence of India Inc. has hit a two-year low on rising cost of capital due to aggressive monetary tightening by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and weak domestic demand amid fears of recession in the US and some European countries, a survey reveals. Both global and domestic developments seem to have dented the level of confidence of India Inc., the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) said in its latest business confidence survey [source].

SAP to e-enable villagers in Rajasthan

The state government has decided to use YouTube as a new tool to expose corrupt and bribe-seekers. The state government has directed all district officials to make arrangements to record video of complaints of all beneficiaries of IAY at the camps. We have asked officials to set up three counters in every camp, where beneficiaries will lodge written complaints against officials who may have demanded bribes and delayed work,’.  Everything will be recorded and soon uploaded on YouTube to expose corrupt officials and end the involvement of middlemen, [source]
