Reasons we don’t say NO

People often take offense at things that aren’t intended to give offense. An example is hearing the word “no” after they ask for someone’s help.

Reasons we don’t say NO:

  • We want to avoid disappointing people.
  • We want to avoid seeming selfish.
  • We desire to help others.
  • We struggle with low self-esteem.
  • We want others to like us.
  • We want to appear valuable.
  • We fear missing out on opportunities.
  • We succumb to emotional bullying.
  • We’re averse to conflict.
