redBus surely thinks mobile-first. The company has been launching slew of app-only features – right from Dropping point recommendations to “Live tracking for buses” and virtual bus stops.
redBus which recently saw the exit of founders has now crossed 2 million downloads across the app stores and continues to rock the app store charts. redBus completed its 1st million downloads in 18 months and next 1 million came in just 4 months’ time.
As far as app platform distribution is concerned, Android drives 75% of the downloads followed by iOS (15%) and Windows Phone (10%). What’s also interesting is that app transactions drive more than 50% of mobile transactions (ofcourse by the virtue of redBus being present in all platforms).
