There is something common between Microsoft and Rediff- both do not believe in being an early mover. While former has a history of climbing up the market share (by being a late entrant), Rediff surely does need a bit of help with product launches.
Now that everybody is done with daily deal space (VCs have spent enough cash, Corporates have done few investments), Rediff has launched DealHoJaye, a daily deal site that works like any other deal site (buy a deal, get your coupon, show coupon to merchant etc).
We keep this post very short – and frankly, we are at a loss to really get into the depth of this service (yes its available in few tier-2 cities as well). We fail to spot a long term value of this (if you do, please share).
Being Rediff, the team could have gone a step further and integrated this with location based deals (Rediff is quite gung-ho about local/maps, but hasn’t converted its passion into something valuable for consumers/advertisers yet).
