I won’t be exaggerating if I say that Google News is one of the most mediocre products from Google – apart from the services’ lack of understanding of original publication (who breaks the story) to the amount of noise Google lets pass through the system – there surely is a need for a better realtime news service.
Rediff is taking a bet with Rediff Realtime news, a service that brings latest news/images and a mag like experience to readers. In terms of experience, the realtime news also brings instant search experience and collates images from different sources – a job well done.
The homepage boasts of a neatly done design with just the search box and trending stories, Though the instant search experience is purely inspired by Google, Rediff has done a very good job of surfacing relevant news.
Now that the cat is out of the bag, will Rediff integrate Realtime news on its homepage, which is mostly full of semi-porn images?
