The telecom operator on Thursday announced that it would charge Rs 123 for a GB of 3G data, which is equal to the 2G price (source).
A PTI report said
RCom also reduced prices for 2GB and 4GB pack on 3G network to Rs 246 and Rs 492 respectively, which is around 35 to 45 per cent lower than its competitors.
Earlier this month, top mobile phone operators including Vodafone, Airtel, Videocon and Idea slashed 2G rates by almost 90% to retain data subscribers in circles they didn’t have 3G license to operate in.
As we’d written earlier, With telecom companies fearing that they would have to shut down 3G in certain circles because of a telecom department ban on offering 3G in circles without licenses, companies have started slashing 2G rates to retain data customers.
