Renault has said that the Indian govt need to work on EV infrastructure aggressively before it asks carmakers to launch vehicles in the country. He said that launching an EV right now would only mean adding another vehicle in the garage.
The company aims to launch its battery-operated vehicles in the country by the year 2022.
While the Niti Aayog and GoI have been pushing for EVs and their ecosystem, Renault India’s CEO feels that launching an electric car with the current ecosystem and infrastructure did not make any sense.
