Reviews42 Raises Series A Funding from Nirvana Venture Advisors, Rahul Khanna & Others

reviews42Online consumer products research platform Reviews42 has raised an undisclosed amount of Series A funding from Nirvana Venture Advisors, Rahul Khanna, the Managing Director of Canaan Partners in India and a few others.

Existing investor Blume ventures also participated in the round and VenturEast exited during the round, the company said.

The startup founded in 2011, has a catalog of user reviews, price comparison and expert opinions to help consumers make a buying decision. Blume Ventures and VenturEast had seed funded the company in November 2011.

Rajan Mehra and Amit Patni from Nirvana Ventures joined the Reviews42 board along with Karthik Reddy from Blume Ventures.

The money will be used to improve the company’s mobile experience, to build a large catalogue in the next 4 months and technology to integrate with offline retailers.

Nirvana Venture Advisors focuses on early-stage Internet, mobile and electronic payments companies and Blume is one of the most active VC firms in the country.

Review42, has added an interesting curated list of reviews to their site which comes in handy for any buyer before making a purchase. The company also makes money from sales referrals.

The comparison buying space is pretty crowded at the moment but having a large catalog of crowd sourced reviews (think Goodreads) is a major differentiation.
