Roadrunnr Launches ‘Mailbox’ To Help Complete Missed Deliveries

Roadrunnr launches ‘Mailbox’ service for customers of ecommerce companies to help cut costs of missed deliveries that amount to more than 20%. Customers of ecommerce businesses can collect their packages at a convenient time or give a missed call and have the package delivered by Roadrunnr.

Roadrunnr operates in 11 cities and claims more than 35,000 deliveries per day. The new Mailbox service is being offered to all ecommerce companies Roadrunnr works with. This facility is currently available in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

The company works with more than 5000 merchants pan India including restaurants, food aggregators and other categories like pharmacies, laundries, florists, etc. Roadrunnr offers same day deliveries for leading ecommerce companies and uses drivers on bikes, eco-bikes, cyclists and walkers to make deliveries.

Roadrunnr had previously raised around $11mn in funding, backed by Sequoia Capital, Nexus Venture Partners and Blume Capital. It is founded by Mohit Kumar and Arpit Dave, ex-employees at Flipkart.

Mohit Kumar, Co-founder & CEO, Roadrunnr, says, “Missed deliveries is a significant challenge in our industry and we are trying to solve this by the Mailbox service. We use a network of existing stores and have tied up with new stores within every 2-3km radius for lockers, to store packages. Roadrunnr mailbox service brings down the cost of re-try for last mile delivery to 4% from 20%.”
