Bangalore-based Roadrunnr, a hyper local logistics player is merging with food tech startup TinyOwl in an all-stock deal, reports ET.
The new joint entity called Runner will be launched in next three weeks and start its operations from Mumbai. The platform will be directly competing with Zomato’s ordering platform, Swiggy and other platforms.
However, TinyOwl will continue its operations and will complete its orders but only in areas where demand is high and will eventually shut down.
This B2C platform will be competing with Opinio and Shadowfax. Earlier Pickingo and Townrush were also operating in the same space but had shut down.
RoadRunnr was founded by former Flipkart executives Mohit Kumar and Arpit Dave and had raised funding from Sequoia Capital India and Nexus Venture Partners who had also invested in TinyOwl.
