This is a win for music streaming company Saavn. The company has tied-up with T-Series to add over 1.3 lakh tracks to its app.
T-Series Chairman and Managing Director Bhushan Kumar said
Legit music streaming services are making dedicated efforts in fighting piracy by providing a fast, simple, and legal alternative, which we support fully. We are happy to make our music available to a broader Indian audience via Saavn Music for mobile devices. (via)
Until now, competing music streaming company Hungama had the rights to the T-Series catalog. Services like Dhingana and Flipkart’s Flyte have shut because of costly licenses and complex rights. Add to it, a broken consumer experience and we have a tough business. Hopefully, this is the beginning of the change in the online music industry we want to see.
