Samsung’s Apple Watch Competitor Could Be Called The Gear A [Round + 3G + Calling Support]

Samsung is apparently working on its very first round smartwatch – codenamed Orbis, which could be its most premium offering in the space yet.
While the device has been doing rounds in the rumour mill for quite some time now, SamMobile now claims that the device will be called the Gear A, and could ship with 3G and calling support.
With the impending launch of the Apple Watch, there’s no doubt that Samsung too will be looking to get in on the fun, just as its trying to gatecrash the iPhone 6’s party with its new Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones.
There could be two variants of the Gear A –  a standard one with bluetooth connectivity, and one with 3G and calling support – while both variants should support Wi-Fi.
3G and calling support isn’t new to Samsung smartwatches –  the pricey Gear S got us those last year, but a cheaper variant without all the bells and whistles makes a lot of sense.
SamMobile reports that the two devices should ship under the model numbers of SM-R720 and SM-R730, with the latter being the one getting cellular connectivity.
