A Samsung Note 2 reportedly caught fire on a Singapore-Chennai flight of IndiGo Friday morning when the plane was about to land. According to one senior Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) official, the cabin crew detected smoke in a Samsung Note 2 handset kept in the overhead bin at 7.45 am, who used fire extinguishers to douse it.
The airplane made a normal landing, and all the passengers were deplaned as per normal procedure, IndiGo said in a statement.
