San Francisco Police Department gets approval to use remote-controlled robots to kill suspects

A controversial policy that allows police robots to “be used as a deadly force option when risk of loss of life to members of the public or officers is imminent” was passed by the city’s board of supervisors last night.

SFPD does not currently possess any robots that are already armed and has no plans to do so.
