The early 2000s saw a rapid growth in Internet adoption all over the world, which further brought a huge influx of people looking to explore the online world. 

During that time Philip Rosedale started working on “Second Life” which became the closest thing to a wholly virtual world.

In 2006, we got Roblox which was a game that allowed users to sit on the creator’s chair and program games that other users could play.
