Seedfund Invests In Hotel Management Startup Axis Rooms

Axis RoomsEarly stage investors, Seedfund has invested an undisclosed amount in startup Axis Rooms, who has developed a room management solution for hotels.

The software developed by the startup, founded in 2009, helps hotels manage their inventory and share inventory related informations with agents in real time.

Most hotels and agents face real time updation problems in regard to room bookings, especially as the agents are allotted a specific number of rooms by the hotel in advance. The solution developed by the startup is mainly trying to tackle this issue.

Axis Rooms currently offers three products Channel Manager, Booking Engine and Corporate and SME Tools. The Channel Manager provides a platform for hotels to manage inventory and pricing with OTAs. The Booking Engine helps hotels to take direct bookings through their own websites. Corporate and SME tool allows the employees of a company to manage their own bookings.

Seedfund recently made a successful exit from redBus, the online bus ticketing portal.

Even though users are spending money on online travel portals nowadays, the online travel agencies industry is not growing at a big rate as expected. Smaller booking margins and distribution challenges are some of the common problems faced by the OTA industry.

Recently OTA market leader MakeMyTrip started doubling down on its hotel reservations and sales of holiday packages, as airline ticket sales have become an expensive affair and give little margins.
