Quillpad has launched it’s mobile client enabling mobile users to send sms in Hindi. Extending it’s transliteration product, Quillpad Mobile allows intuitive typing in Indian languages using the standard mobile keypad (English).
Rediff funded Quillpad launched this product with Idea Cellular last year (this is the consumers launch) and the service is currently available only for Hindi, but Tachyon, the parent company will soon roll out the products in other languages like Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali and Punjabi.
I downloaded the app and am quite impressed with the service – the app transliterates intuitively (phonetically) and is quite fast as well. The app is not rule based and smart shortcuts (like pressing # switches between English and Hindi) simply enhances the experience (follows Nine Rules to Improve Usage of your Mobile Application).
Do give Quillpad mobile app a dekho and share your feedback.
