ShopClues Forays Into The Hyperlocal Space With ‘Neighbourhood Market’

Neighbourhood Market will allow merchants connect with buyers near them. The decision to tie up with local merchants was done to enable faster delivery, speedier complaint resolution and quicker returns. ShopClues ran a pilot program for 2 weeks in Delhi with 20-25 merchants and now plans to launch the service in other Tier 1 and 2 cities by the month end.

Online marketplace ShopClues has launched Neighbourhood Market, a feature that allows local sellers to connect with buyers near them.

The move marks the startups entry into the booming hyperlocal services space in India and the decision to include local merchants was done to enable faster delivery timelines, speedier complaint resolution and quicker returns for customers.

Neighbourhood Market was piloted in Delhi around two weeks ago with around 20-25 merchants. The company plans to roll it out across merchant dense localities in other Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities by the end of the month.

Merchants that participate in the program can either fulfill deliveries themselves or make use of delivery agents ShopClues has tied up with or let customers pick up goods in store.
