Personalized Quirky and Funky Gifts is The USP of This Startup

Shop to Surprise, literally as the name sounds, is about sending gifts to your loved ones with a touch of personalization. Basically targeting people for whom finding a perfect gift is a Herculean task, S2S is a gifting solution with a quirky element to it.

Gifting categories to choose from are plenty, example “on sale”, “ him”, “her” and “just in”etc. There are more funkier categories titled “something out of nothing”, “funky and unique gifts” and “the recycled way” to send special and personalized gifts.  The last category includes gifts out of recycled material.

Personalization and concepts

The emphasis of ShoptoSurprise is on concepts and hence personalisation is a huge component. You could get back at your ex with a personalized cushion gift that says, “Boyfriend in training.” If you want to pamper your wife, there is another one that says, “ I don’t need Google, my wife knows everything.”

Started by ISB alumni and a serial entrepreneur Shruti Dhanda, Shop To Surprise aims to be the gift pocketing buddy for every Indian. Her previous experience in the flower delivery business helped understand the gifting industry better.

Not too pricey

You could get a good gift in under Rs.500 from the S2S online store. Most of them are priced from Rs.199 to Rs.999, but there are gifts like the Wedding hamper that costs Rs.13999.

Once you choose your gift and add it to the cart, you can either login with your Facebook or gmail id. After that you need to give details of yourself and the receiver. There is an option to write special messages as well. Once the details are filled, you proceed to the  shipping procedures and the payment gateway. It would have been better if one could spend lesser time with the basic formalities.

Chumbak and HappilyUnmarried are also players in this field but not specifically catering to gifting alone. Chumbak received $2Million funding recently. GiftZapp is yet another app that makes quick gifting possible.
