Bangalore based education startup, SmartOn has been selected to TechStars Kaplan Global Edtech Accelerator (3 months programme) for 2014.
As part of the programme, each startup will receive $20k from Techstars in return for equity and an option for a $150k convertible debt note from Kaplan.
SmartOn teaches “new economy skills” in areas such as coding, data science, social media, and design.

As far as traction is concerned, Chaitanya mentions that 3000 students have taken their courses in different formats across 60 countries. The company has also signed up Shopify, Hootsuite as strategic partners.
Another Indian startup, MartMobi made it to Techstars accelerator.
