SMSmyEmail is an interesting service which enables on to receive emails on mobile phone without any mandatory gprs connection. SMSmyEmail works with all the popular email services like Yahoo!/Gmail and any server which supports POP/IMAP.
What’s really cool about SMSmyEmail is that you can set filters for mails you want to/do not want to receive – i.e. restrict the smses to only those mails which are important to you.
The free service allows only 5 alerts per day and one can increase the number of alerts by inviting friends (though you get free 50 alerts once you signup). SMSmyEmail, in future will target corporates for a paid-service.
Overall, SMSmyEmail is a neat concept and has great potential; but my biggest concern is how safe/unsafe my login credentials are, in the hands of SMSmyEmail? ,
What’s your take?
A similar product – MeOnGo (just that it mandates one to have GPRS)
