Snapdeal has launched an all new fashion discovery tool Find My Style that uses advanced computer vision and machine learning algorithms to help users find what they’re looking for.
The Find My Style portal allows users to pick a category of fashion product (think t-shirts), then pick a style of t-shirt and finally be shown list of all similar products.
Products are matched using pattern, colour and design and the algorithms do all this automatically using advanced image recognition engines which it claims were built in-house.
The Find My Style tool is being used as a way to draw talent to the company, which recently kicked off its diversity initiative ‘Advitya’ that aims to attract and retain talent.
When it comes to the tech, Flipkart too recently launched image search for fashion products on its platform, which used similar image recognition and machine learning tech to show users similar products.
Snapdeal has also introduced adoption benefits for male employees who can avail of three weeks of leave while female employees can take leave up to 12 weeks after adopting a child.
Further, the company has also enhanced its maternity leave from 16 weeks to 25 weeks and paternity leave from two weeks to three weeks. Both moves seem to have been prompted by Flipkart’s new maternity leave policy and adoption assistance program.
