Online marketplace, Snapdeal will now cater to Hindi and Tamil speaking folks with the launch of two new language options on their website. Users can pick between English, Tamil and Hindi using the language drop down feature.
The site has made the move to reach out to sections of the population who want to access content in regional languages. 50% of Snapdeal’s overall sales comes from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Banking on Hindi and Tamil will give them wider access in the Northern and Southern parts of the country, says the company.
Other regional languages will also soon be launched to reach out to the 40% local language internet users in the country said Snapdeal.
The company is one of the first in the e-commerce space to launch the regional language feature.
