Social Media Battle: Indians Use Facebook 2.4 Times More Than Twitter, Reveals Study

According to a study conducted by market research and business consultancy firm IMRB, Facebook has Pan-India presence and has almost 2.4 times more users in India than social micro blogging site Twitter and around 2 times more usage than video sharing website YouTube.

 

There are around 125 million Facebook users in India, whereas, there are only 23.2 million twitter users in India currently.

The study also revealed that 70 percent people on Facebook own a smartphone and 88 percent of them use a prepaid connection. 63 percent Facebook users in India have 3G while 38 percent use a 2G connection to access the social network.

The number of people on Facebook in the non-top eight metros is more than twice that of the top eight cities. Which means that number of people using Facebook in metro cities is only half of what people use in non-metro cities.

Android is the most popular operating system used by Indian to access Facebook, followed by iOS and windows.
