Bangalore based MyParichay, which simply translates into ‘my introduction’ is a next generation e-recruitment solution based upon social hiring. Co-founded by Ranjan and Vivek Sinha, who between themselves have years of experience working in high growth human resource companies and leading data driven platforms in Fortune 500 pharmaceutical companies.
MyParichay is an intra-network present on Facebook that makes the entire the experience of recruitment more transparent and engaging by tapping into people’s social connection by focusing on recommendations and referrals.
The service has essentially three major offering in the form of:
- Company Parichay– which is a career microsite for a brand. Allows brands to have a ‘career tab’ on their Facebook page to post and keep track of the jobs and talent.
- Employee Parichay – Actively search across the employees’ social network for candidate referrals and employees can use it for their own recommendations.
- Recruiter Parichay – Allows recruiters to build upon their candidate referral network and actively search for talent lead within their network.
After access to the service is granted, the user can upload a resume and build a professional bio which might include their work experience, specialized skill set and other details to complement their Facebook details .The idea is to let other as much about your professional information as it would lead to better chances of being showing up for candidate searches on the MyParichay platfrom.
MyParichay indexes job openings in two ways, by either presenting jobs which are uniquely listed on its platform or it crawls the popular job portals and company websites to present forth a large set to the users. Many brand like Genpact, Kotak Life Insurance and Ikya are already using MyParichay to ease up their hiring process and provide a centralized database for recruitment using MyParichay.
MyParichay is betting big on India and unsurprising in a country of youth, the 90% of networks and connections on MyParichay are for jobs requiring experience ranging from 0-9, which effectively translates into the age bracket of 20-32 years. The company plans to tap into the Indian market well, and has found camaraderie in the IT/BPO and the recruitment agencies themselves for hiring.
Very soon they will officially expand to countries like Philippines, Vietnam and Romania; and will tap into existing professional networks to make MyParichay the go-to choice for professionals. Social recruitment has been used by a lot of companies and globally, one in six job seekers found their last job through social networks (via).
