SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son Names Nikesh Arora As His Potential Successor

SoftBank’s CEO and founder, Masayoshi Son has picked SoftBank vice-chairman Nikesh Arora as top candidate to succeed him in the future.

Furthermore, Arora has been promoted as the President & Representative Director of Softbank, to be effective from June 2015.
Masayoshi Son also remarked that this was the first time he has given the ‘president’ title to anyone else since he founded SoftBank in 1981.
Though, Son mentioned that he have no plans to retire at the moment, Arora will be the primary candidate as his successor.
Arora had joined Softbank in last September as vice-chairman and CEO of SB Group US. SoftBank has became one of the major investor in Indian technology companies, invested around $1 billion in startups like Snapdeal, Ola, Housing.
Also, Arora had led SoftBank’s $250 million investment in Legendary Entertainment, the Hollywood production which produced debut films like The Dark Knight trilogy, Godzilla, Inception, Batman Begins, Superman Returns, The Hangover.
However, last month, Arora had stepped down from the boards of Housing, Snapdeal and Ola.
