Google Backed Song Advisors Invests in K-12 Techno Services and Eye Q Vision

Song Advisors is a Hyderabad based fund that manages $17mn – backed by Google, Omidyar Network and Soros Development Fund.

The fund has announced an investment in Eye Q and K12 Techno Services, healthcare and education based ventures.

Eye Q is a chain of high quality but affordable eye-care hospitals in North India, catering to people in the income segment earning an individual income of below INR 10,000.

Eye Q currently has 8 hospitals and though a similar model exists in South India, nothing has been replicated in North India.

K12 Techno Services is End-to-end School Management Company focused on affordable K-12 Education segment in South India and this is a co-investment deal with Sequoia Capital.

K12 Techno Services  has the potential to offer education services to 30,000 students whose parents, either, belong to income segment earning an individual income of below INR 10,000 per month, or, belong to SC/ST and other backward classes by 2014.
