Soon you’ll have to pay more for booking train tickets online

The Railway board has given a go-ahead to IRCTC to re-instate the service fee for online ticket bookings. These charges were scrapped three years back resulting in a 26-percent revenue drop.

As per the Finance ministry, the waiver of these charges was a temporary move and after a detailed study, it has given the approval to restore the fee.

Before the waiver, the service charge for booking e-tickets varied between Rs. 20 to Rs. 40. IRCTC is yet to announce the new fee structure.
