Singapore based Lawr, a legal tech startup has acquihired lawfarm for an undisclosed amount.
Lawr has been operating in stealth mode since mid-2015 and now it adds to its portfolio LawFarm’s unique host of legal Q&A features, lawyer-finding services and in-depth content of updates and news in the legal community.
Post-acquisition, Lawr aims to be delivering the latest legal updates to its users and providing a unique lawyer-finding service. Lawr’s lawyer-finding service, which combines the signing on of lawyers and providing legal guidance, will expand the legal marketplace. Lawr also aims to add several features for meeting legal needs in the community.
“The acquisition of LawFarm adds to Lawr.co’s potential and scalability in providing bespoke solutions for the public in seeking the right professional for their legal needs, and at the same time positioning itself as a one-stop shop for legal content and updates,” said Jieyang Huang, co-founder of Lawr.
LawFarm was founded in 2013 by Sreerupa Chowdhury and Monalisa Saha, and gained traction with its exclusive partnership with anti-bribery website ipaidabribe in providing guidance in response to legal queries posed by members.
Following the acquisition, Sreerupa will remain to assist in LawFarm’s organic growth and will be key to Lawr.co’s strategic growth and direction in India.
