State Bank Of India Launches First Digital Branch In North-East India

State Bank of India in its drive to shift to digital banking, on Wednesday opened their first Digital branch in North-East India.

SBI aims to drive smart and user friendly state of art technology with a wide range of facilities like Internet banking, Internet savings, mobile banking etc with minimum human intervention.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul M Sangma inaugurated the first Digital branch in Shillong.

He urged the banks to collaborate with the government in its various programmes that would offer plenty of opportunities for micro and small entrepreneurs. He, however, expressed concerns over the security of internet banking and stressed on importance of safe banking.
