Device notifications are a distractions. They not only plummet productivity but can also be a lot more worrisome in case of situations such as driving.
Mrigaen Kapadia, who earlier launched ‘Breakfree, the phone addiction app‘, has launched ‘Switch Off Notifications’ app that lets you, under one roof, create a profile of your not-so-important apps whose notifications you want to block, and then whenever you are in that important meeting, or driving to work, you can block notifications via the app or widget.
The app also provides a widget to turn on and turn off app notifications. And also gives you a list of all your missed notifications. Ofcourse, one can play around with these in phone/settings, but this app has a value proppsition for a normal consumer who isn’t comfortable playing with settings.
The app keeps a tab of what notifications you’ve missed and you can view these on the widget or from within the app.
Right now, the app is available on Android only.
If you are an app developer, do attend bigMobiConf (Sep 13th/Bangalore)
