Synup, a Bangalore-based startup that has built a cloud-based local marketing service has raised a half-million seed round, led by Angelprime Partners (www.angelprime.com). Synup enables local businesses worldwide to improve their marketing performance by managing their presence and reputation across the web. The funding will be used to build the Synup team and operations and more importantly to rapidly expand the service globally.
Synup was started by Ashwin Ramesh, a 23-year-old entrepreneur along with co-founders and industry veterans Mohan Gopalakrishnan (CEO) and Karthik Krishnamoorthy (CTO).
Based in Bangalore, Synup launched its service in June 2014 and focuses on making life easier for businesses & marketing agencies that want to advertise locally. The company has already attracted several hundred customers in the US and Canada, with its ease of use, breadth of coverage, and attractive pricing strategy.
Synup features include:
- Enables businesses to manage their listings on over 200 websites and search engines on a single dashboard
- Tracks customer reviews in more than 20 websites and notifies the business immediately
- Businesses can monitor and analyze their rankings on nine different search engines and local directories
AngelPrime had earlier raised funding from Mayfield and recently invested $500K in HackerEarth.
