Take a look at Apple India's featured innovative app lists (as part of India's Independence day celebration).
Frankly, like rest of the 'India featured list', this clearly shows how Apple is losing its relevance in Indian market.
Android has got far too many interesting apps at India level than Apple (at global level , it's a different scenario).
Why would developers care ?
Android's market share in India is 97%. In fact, Apple iOS fell 35 percent annually and shipped 0.8 million smartphones in India in Q2 2016.
Why would developers build for iOS, when there aren't enough iDevices out in the market ? While we debate on this (and developers prefer to build for global markets), lack of quality apps in Apple store's curation set should be a red signal for the company.
Ofcourse, Apple ecosystem is monetizable by a few multiples as opposed to Android, building for India and that for iOS devices doesn't seem to be a lucrative value prop.
