According to one report, there are over 122 million active users of ad blockers in India, which the publications believe significantly impacts their operation, as advertisements are their essential source of financing.
Many international publications, including The New York Times, have taken similar action, saying "No one who refuses to contribute to the creation of high-quality journalism has the right to consume it."
