Two articles in today's newspapers intrigued me to wonder, is there a correlation between the falling truck sales and the current trends in e-commerce, which by all means, is a down-trend.
To quote one such report in Mint:
"After expanding briskly for nearly two years, sales of medium and heavy-duty trucks are moderating as replacement demands, one of the key drivers of growth so far, starts to wear off"
Other report in Financial Express continues the same ominous tone :
"We believe freight demand in the economy is weak and our channel checks suggest replacement demand is also moderating."
The two years wherein the new truck sales rose where also the period wherein the e-commerce companies were sky-rocketing in terms of GMV.
People are already discounting GMV as
"Too 2015", perhaps that reflects in the new truck sales also !
Can we infer from the decline in new truck sales that, e-commerce industry has slowed down, contrary to what horse's say?
