App based ride-hailing service Ola will procure its licence issued by the Karnataka state road transport authority in next two days. This will be the first app-based cab aggregator to operate under a licence.
Ola has apparently fulfilled all the conditions and also submitted details of 100 vehicles which have city and state taxi permits. The company has also paid more than Rs 1 lakh as security deposit.
However, the licence will be provided only to Ola and not TaxiForSure, for which the company has submitted a separate application.
Under the Karnataka On-demand Transportation Technology Aggregator Rules 2016, the cab aggregators must have more than 100 cabs which must have tamper-proof GPS devices and detailed technical specifications.
