This is the age of video and the Q&A sites still seem to be living in the stone ages, where the question is asked and replied via text.
For almost all the prominent Q&A sites including the local search engines, there is a difference crops up between what a user actually wants to ask and what she ends up asking eventually, because there is this delta between thought and written language.
But a video is simpler and elegant. One can describe her questions with all the natural emotions in which it was conceived with all the extras thrown in to help the viewer understand, where she is coming from and where she actually wants to go.
Needless to say, same goes for the lady who answers. She could describe in best possible manner in a much more natural manner for many questions she could actually display products or actions in her video.
Above all, texts are bland, questions and answers are all about emotions and it can be rightly done only with videos.
Let us take the example of a Local Search Engine.
A user's query of a product or her requirements could be best explained via video, for example of a carpenter. She could showcase her house, the place where she wants the cupboard etc.
As an answer to her query, the carpenter can show case her various items in the video or design, and may be even draw one out on the piece of paper.
Is there any better way to do it, the Q&A.
The whole local search and commerce could be disrupted (ah, dear lord, forgive me, for I have sinned by using the word "disruptive")
On the revenue side also, so much can be done with videos.
Above all, this is the world of Selfies and Narcissism, let's use this. Everyone wants to be in front of camera and then share it.
