As I was watching one of my favorite movie "Big Short" I realized one thing, all the stuff that made us detest Wall Street is getting repeated by Silicon Valley.
A. They'd make you think what they're doing is really surreal and only they can do it (when you start learning the core tech behind all bug buzz words you realize it's been around for a while.not hard to learn either)
B. Most talent would be diverted towards them because of insane money they're throwing (when company Secretary gets 40 lpa after three years of work ex it's time to call the shit out)
C. Cult following, wall street has Goldman, JP Morgan, these guys have Google, Facebook
D. Lack of actual value creation. (Not saying all is dogshit, but yeah most of it is.)
I kept mum all along past five years since I've been following this "iski topi uske sir", thinking it's dumb private money... But shit hits the fan when you realize that Canadian teachers Pension fund had invested in Snapdeal. Just thinking about hard earned pension going into such firms is just saddening.
