In High Court Hearing on Wednesday, Uber decided to temporarily halt surge pricing in Karnataka and in return the state government has said that it will not confiscate the company’s cabs.
But, no cab driver will be allowed to violate the fare schedule and if caught to be doing so, the transport department officials will proceed as per the law.
The leniency will be given till the next court hearing, which is on June 20th. Till then, the court has also asked the Police department not to carry out with verification.
Uber and Ola have also sought for licences as aggregators, which will be granted by the Government under the new regulation.
