Let me just say I'm glad JN Tata did not think like that in 1900
There are a multitude of motivations. Only a limited kind get attention right now. I'm waiting for the ones that will impact many, or build a legacy, and at the same time be a sensible, profitable business.
It's been done before, and will be done again. Just not inside this "what works in the valley" box. Alibaba/AliExpress have solved more in India than Indian ecomm has. And I'm sure many are already working on models that matter to people. Remember the guys who let people charge their phones for 10/- each off batteries?
