The startup events in India have become a reflection of what we saw in 2015.
The events have become more about looting the startup founders than delivering any significant impact to them.
The more I see these, the more I feel disconnected. And the more I feel disconnected, the more I start to believe that somebody needs to take a step back, rethink and FIX IT (not talking about Colplay's costly Fix You).
This UnPluggd, we take a step back and do things that truly matter to India's startup and tech audience => Actionable Insights
Actionable insights have been our key strength and focus right from the first edition, but this time, we have defined five key areas of focus and importantly, industry folks who are going to drive these.
This UnPluggd, we are doing what we have done with NextBigWhat - bring community to the center. We will let community decide / run the topics and speakers they want to listen to.
UnPluggd 2016 Winter Edition : What Lies Ahead
First of all, UnPluggd (Nov 25th and 26th @Bangalore) is split across 2 days. Day 1, being ProductGeeks and Day 2 the core UnPluggd.
At ProductGeeks, we won't even use the word startup. We want to deeply focus on bringing successful and impactful products, scaling them and monetising them.
Who should attend this ? Product managers/leaders/founders/marketers.
Quick hashtags of topics include : #GrowthHacking, #ProductMarketing, #SalesStrategy #CustomerAcquisition and related. We hope you get the drift.
When it comes to startup discovery, we are focusing on #MakeForIndia as a driving force. Specific areas include : Fintech, AI & ML, Core Engineering (which includes startups disrupting manufacturing / construction sector) and IoT.
Bootstrappers : Let's bring them all !
On Day 2, we bring to you a whole lot of focus on bootstrapping and you will hear it from founders who are NOT AT ALL heard/talked about. They are doing their things and they really don't care much about GMV and related shit.
I am fundamentally sick of seeing startup events bringing same speakers and their same shit - it's almost a successful playbook and we at UnPluggd have taken the non-traditional route of bringing in speakers who are not at all media-trained. They don't have a formula to share, they just have experience and insights to share.
All in an UnPluggd format. All in a way, where you relate to them. You get inspired by what they tell you. UnPluggd stays with you longer than any other event.
Our Key SLA : We want you to have sleepless nights after UnPluggd ! You should be working on fixing / improving your startup after all the insights / experience you are exposed to across the two days.
No gyaan. Only vigyaan (science) of startups and products.
Date: 25 & 26th of November 2016

PS : We have kept the ticket pricing to be extremely startup friendly.
PPS : Why do we not announce speakers 2 months in advance ? Because it takes a lot of effort to discover them and also work closely with them to close on the topic and details. Discovering amazing / non-celebrity speakers is a big deal and we upp the bar again and again.
