Roadrunnr, a B2B online platform and service provider for hyper local logistics, has raised $11 million from Sequoia Capital and Nexus Venture Partners and Blume Ventures. This investment will help Roadrunnr enhance its technology platform, expand nationally and build a dense delivery network.


Bangalore based Roadrunnr aspires to provide every merchant in India the capability to deliver orders rapidly and on-demand to customers in their locality by connecting them with a supply force using mobile technology.

The company caters to merchants, restaurants and ecommerce companies, managing their deliveries in a cost effective manner while adhering to service level agreements. Roadrunnr has quickly grown to have the largest fleet for on-demand services in Bangalore and has recently started operations in Delhi NCR. It now plans to take this model across India and develop the largest fleet of on-demand hyperlocal delivery carriers in the country.

The company partners with students, drivers and others who work with Roadrunnr on a part time basis. Their pricing model differs from other aggregators as they charge merchants a flat fee based on their shipment size rather than the value of the order.

The company has previously raised seed funding from Nexus Venture Partners and Blume Ventures.

Since the launch of the Lybrate app in January this year, the company has seen a massive growth with more than 80,000 doctors from various specialties from across India currently connected with its service. With more than half a million downloads in the last five months and over 100,000 patients visiting the platform every day, Lybrate’s popularity has been growing exponentially.

Before bringing any doctor on its platform, Lybrate runs a background check to verify medical licenses and credentials. The users can seek multiple opinions from doctors for free on the open platform, or start a one-on-one dialogue privately for a fee with doctors and share text, photo and voice. While interacting on an open platform, the physicians can also endorse answers of other doctors.

Indix Raises $15mn in Series B From Nokia Growth Partners, Nexus And Avalon Partners

Indix, the cloud-based Product Intelligence company that provides analytics and insights for brands, retailers and commerce enablers, today announced that it raised $15 million in new funding from Nokia Growth Partners, Nexus Venture Partners and Avalon Ventures.indix

The funding comes after a record Q1 in 2015, bolstered by more than 250 percent growth in year-over-year revenue and from relationships with major brands and retailers. Indix will use the funding to grow its team of data scientists and engineers as well as expand its sales and marketing efforts.

Rancher Labs Secures $10M For Managing Container Infrastructure

Rancher Labs, a startup developing Docker infrastructure software has raised $10M in Series A funding from Mayfield and Nexus Venture Partners. With the rapid adoption of container technology, the company’s open source software has gained in popularity by allowing organizations to run containers in production, across any cloud. The funding will be allocated to furthering product development and expanding the company’s engineering and development teams.

Data center startup, Arkin Net has raised $15mn from Nexus Venture Partners and industry veterans including B.V. Jagadeesh (formerly CEO at NetScaler).

Arkin also announced the availability of their Platform and Cloud Service, that brings unprecedented visibility and converged operations to software-defined data centers (SDDC).
